About Adoption

When an unwed mother at St. Lucy Center agrees to place her child for adoption, the baby is first placed in the nursery, where he or she receives 24-hour care. Volunteers, doctors and nurses make regular visits. St. Lucy will search to match the baby, (sometimes, there are twins), to a loving family.

Our primary concern is the welfare of these beautiful children. For these children, this is a happy beginning because they are innocent, and they have every right to have loving parents and a stable home.

In addition, St. Lucy Center provides post-placement counseling to the unwed mothers.

Currently, one out of every six married couples in Taiwan are infertile or unable to conceive. Many infertile couples, both in Taiwan and abroad, have exhausted all treatments. Rather than remain childless, they decide to become parents through adoptions. Some adopting couples already have biological children, adopted children, or both.

The Qualifications of adoptive parents :

  • The adoptive parents must be at least twenty years older than the adoptee.
  • The applicants must be under 50 years old.
  • The applicants must be married at least five years.
